XBoards introduces high performance BioBoard™, the first snowboard made with all-natural flax fiber. BioBoard features proprietary FlaxFlex™ technology that harnesses the shock-absorbing power of this eco-friendly material to allow riders to navigate uneven terrain more fluidly and with greater speed. It contains no carbon or fiberglass – among the most toxic parts of a snowboard - and instead uses 100% biodegradable and renewable flax fabric.

Flax is one of the oldest fibers known to man, having been unearthed in clothing dating back to 30,000 BC. Today, flax is used in an increasing number of high performance products for its superior vibration dampening and strength-to-weight ratios compared to carbon, fiberglass and Kevlar.

BioBoard with FlaxFlex takes advantage of the natural vibration dampening power of flax to reduce leg fatigue while ensuring precision edge control from tip to tail.

With production quantities of less than a hundred, BioBoard 2012 will be a truly limited edition.
